How to take part in a day trip?

Registration for Saturday and Sunday day trips takes place online the week before the trip. There are three steps (modified compared to last season) :

  1. 1) Participants register online and pay from Tuesday 12.30 to Wednesday 16.30 on the registration page for the day trip on the ski club's HelloAsso website.
  2. 2) The person in charge of the day trip selects the participants according to the number of seats available and send an email either confirming the participation or indicating the placement on the waiting list by Thursday end of afternoon. Please include the club email address in your approved senders and check your inbox. Send a message to the club address on Friday morning if you have not received any message.
  3. 3) Members who have not participated in the day trip are reimbursed as soon as possible after the trip.

Participants except the members of the club committee required to supervise the day trip are selected on the basis of the order of pre-registration. 50% of places are reserved for members working on the ITER site and 50% for members working on or linked to the CEA site. These rules may change during the season.

Participants not selected for a day trip will be given priority for the following day trip. There is no open hours for the ski club any longer. If you have any problem, please send a message to club email address or to skiclubSUPPRIMER@iter.org (only accessible from ITER email addresses).

Reimbursement

If you have registered for a day trip but have to cancel please contact the person in charge of the trip by e-mail: skiclubcadaracheSUPPRIMER@gmail.com and on the club mobile phone (06 59 66 99 62) as soon as possible. The rate without ski lift ticket will be retained if you cannot be replaced.

Day trip cancellations

In case of bad weather conditions or if there are not enough participants registered, the day trip can be cancelled on Thursday at the latest. The registered participants will be informed by email and reimbursed via HelloAsso.

Ski lessons

Voluntary ski and snowboard instructors from the French Skying Federation (FFS) give free ski and snowboard lessons in the morning during our day trips (between 2 hours and 2 hours and a half depending on the time of arrival at the resort).

According to the FFS regulations, you must have a FFS license to take these lessons. The students must wear helmets and have their boots and skis or snowboard with them in the bus in order to avoid losing time in renting equipment on arrival at the resort. We remind you that you can rent equipment from the ski club at attractive rates.

Please ask for lessons and indicate the level of the skier / snowboarder upon registration. The groups are made during the week depending on the number and level of students and instructors available.

Transportation

Transportation to the ski resorts is organised through a private company with recent, comfortable and safe coaches.

The activities of the ski club are organised in the respect of safety rules on open trails. Skiing off-trail involves your own responsability. The club assumes no responsibility in the case of an accident happening off-trail.

Underage participants must be under the responsability of a parent or responsible adult.

In case of an skiing accident

  • Alert emergency services as soon as possible, give the exact location (trail name...) and nature of the injury and protect the scene of the accident with skis crossed upright.
  • Inform the person in charge of the day trip as soons as possible, especially if you will not come back with the bus.
  • At the medical center provide insurance information (FFS license, ASCEA insurance and/or your personal insurance).
  • Ask for an initial medical certificate. It will be needed for the insurance claim.
  • Ask the doctor if you are allowed to go back with the ASCEA bus.
  • Contact the ski club committee within two days after the accident to complete the insurance claim. It will be transfered to the ASCEA which will file the claim with the insurance company

Important: In case of an accident you may have to pay medical expenses, which can be significant, at the resort. We therefore recommend that you alway have some means if payment (cheque or credit card) on you when you are skiing.

Cadarache Cup

The 2024 edition of the Cadarache cup will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024. It takes place during a regular day trip, but we also offer all participants who wish to participate in a friendly giant slalom race. It is the opportunity for everybody to test themselves between gates and why not to discover their racer's calling.
